During this period of confinement, we are forced to limit our movements. We spend more time at home and we move less than usual, that's for sure. But that's not a reason to give up physical activity... on the contrary! Continuing to exert yourself is very important to keep your spirits up, and to take care of your health. All you have to do is adapt your activity, thanks to a few exercises to do alone or with your family.
1 – The knee lifts
It's the perfect activity to let off steam... without having to move! To practice it, it's very simple: you just have to put on a pair of sneakers (essential to absorb the shock), and raise one knee then the other as high as possible. This exercise will work your cardio and you will burn maximum calories by staying in place. Practice !
2 – Sheathing
To work the whole back as well as the abdominals, sheathing is the ideal exercise! It consists of contracting a set of muscles in order to protect your body and optimize the transmission of forces during a movement. You can practice it in two ways: by leaning on your forearms and your knees, or more complicated, by leaning on your forearms and your toes. It is up to you to choose the option that is most suitable.
3 – The Superman
To work the lower back and relieve lower back pain, the “superman” is a very effective exercise. To do it, it's very simple: lie on the ground on your stomach with your arms outstretched, then come and take off your bust and your legs simultaneously while inhaling (see photo above). Repeat this exercise 10 times.
4 – The chair
Simple to perform, this posture is perfect for improving balance and strengthening the glutes. All you have to do is stand up, feet parallel and arms outstretched, then lower your pelvis backwards as if to sit on an imaginary chair. If you wish, you can also perform this exercise against a wall.
5 – Dance
You hadn't thought of that? Yes, dancing is a great idea to spend when you can't get out (or almost) from home. In addition to getting you moving, this activity will allow you to release all the stress you have accumulated. Choose your favorite songs and invite the whole family to accompany you.
