Get On The Ropes: Rope Workout

Everyone knows jumping rope from kindergarten. But it's not necessarily just fun for kids. For example, professional boxers spend an important part of their training jumping rope because it increases their jumping power, trains their speed and stamina, and improves movements in a boxing match.

A trend sport has developed from simple rope skipping in the USA, which is now also conquering Europe under the name Battle Rope or Rope Workout. It's a creative and effective cardio workout that also builds strength.

How does modern rope training work?

The rope workout is not a two-dimensional training like you can do in the studio on the individual machines. Great importance is attached to guaranteeing a functional and holistic training. During a training session with the rope, the whole body should be stressed. And now a good portion of imagination comes into play.

The inventors of Battle Rope and Rope Workout had imagination. They've put together dozens of exercises that use rope in one way or another and involve almost every muscle in the body. Multiple ropes are used, larger ones that multiple people pull and jump on, and also the traditional jump ropes for one or more people. The ropes are made of artificial hemp or polyester and are very durable.

Having fun on the ropes

Fun is in the foreground and a rope workout can hardly be boring. In one exercise, ropes about twenty meters long are anchored to the ground in the middle of the training area and the trainees are connected to the other end. The advantage of this is that the rope reflects the movement of the athlete and always prompts him to do his exercise even better.

As a rule, the individual exercises on the various ropes are carried out intensively at short intervals in order to challenge speed and strength in equal measure. High-quality ropes that also withstand modern requirements are ideal.
