From acrobatics to yoga, volleyball and athletics to basketball and boxing, Jeremiah and Daniel have looked at all kinds of sports and looked at them in terms of the so-called "range of motion", which could be translated as freedom of movement. The Rom Wod they invented is intended to improve this freedom of movement
Rom Wod as a versatile workout
So Rome stands for freedom of movement. Wod, on the other hand, is the abbreviation for "workout of the day", i.e. for a training session. This terminology comes from the CrossFit area, in which one of the two brothers also works as a trainer. The idea behind Rom Wod is that the training program is made available online. A central website takes on several roles and presents the subscribers with the daily training session in the form of a video. Participation in the program is subject to a fee. There are always trial offers where you can test the program for 2-3 weeks free of charge to see if you like it.
What is a Rom Wod training?
In the training videos, which are only available in English so far, many different exercises are put together in order to improve freedom of movement . Physical mobility is important, as is performance and the development of strength and endurance . The condition of the connective tissue should be strengthened and therefore the stretching phase is particularly intensive. An important part of the Rom Wod training is the stabilization of the joints through a targeted strengthening of the muscles around the joints. Last but not least, breathing control exercises are also included carried out, which enable the athlete to bring his entire body under better control, as is important in martial arts but also in yoga.
